Event Details

January 6th, 2007, at Mile Marker 11 (not 11.5). This is the first round of the 2007 AMRA race series, and what a way to kick off the season! Entry Info: Pre-entry is $45. After December 29th entry is $55. AMA membership available at event, DO NOT send with mail in entry. All mail in entries must be received by 11/29/06. Riders under eighteen (18) must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian. No checks or credit cards accepted at event, cash only. This is an AMRA points paying event and all racers are required to have an AMRA competition card, $10 (includes Tee shirt) AMA membership is required. Must show proof at sign-up. If you don’t have a card or confirmation number (from online AMA membership purchase), then you will be required to purchase a new membership at sign-up. General Info: Graded dirt road access. Overnight camping available Fri, RV friendly. Portable toilets provided, no other services provided. Concessions available Friday and Saturday. USFS approved spark arrestor and 96 db sound test required per AMA standards. NO REFUND FOR FAILING. Registration and Tech open Friday Jan. 5th, 4:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday Jan. 6th, 6:00-9:00 a.m. Mandatory Rider’s Meeting Saturday Jan. 6th, 8:15 a.m. Course elevation 2200-3600’. NO PRE-RUNNING AND NO JETTING LOOP. Come pre-jetted and ready to race. This event is being held on State Trust and BLM land. Please be respectful so we can continue to hold events in this location. Strict 10 mph speed limit on the entry road and no pit riding as part of our dust abatement plan. Violators will be DQ’d and asked to leave. Race Info: Qualifier format with transfer sections and test sections. Three (3) riders per row event start, rows starting on one (1) minute intervals. Test section individual rider starts on fifteen (15) second intervals. AA, A and most B classes = approx 60 mi.; some B classes, C and beginners = approx 30 mi. Kids race planned immediately following completion of event, details to follow. AMRA style layout consisting mostly of single track and sand wash. Prepare for rocks and cactus. Speed averages will be approximately 20 mph. Terrain is a mix of rocks and sand with some hills and a lot of cholla. Numbers will be assigned per row designation (1A, 1B, 1C etc.). AMRA numbers and backgrounds are not required. Please pre- register to know your row assignment prior to the event. Event will be scored immediately following completion. Directions: Take I-17 north or south to exit 223/Carefree Hwy. Continue west on Carefree HWY/ SR 74 approx. 26 miles to mile marker 11.
